- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on the art history of New Zealand in the 20th century. She analyzes the assessment done by historians Eric Hall McCormick and Alexander Hare McLintock which according to her was based on the modernist framework and was concerned with the authenticity of artistic expression. he further informed about the U.S. National Art Gallery which continuously provided an aesthetic and conservative approach of the art collection.
