- Abstract
The anthology "Herodian's World. Empire and Emperors in the III Century" by Alessandro Galimberti is dedicated to the study of the historian Herodian. For a long time considered a second-rate historian, Herodian has received increased attention in recent years. The volume contains 14 essays that examine both Herodian's narrative technique and the historical implications of his work. Particularly noteworthy are the essays on the portrayal of Caracalla and the ideological coloring of the text. The anthology provides added value for understanding Herodian's work and is recommended for those interested in the history of Rome after Marcus Aurelius.
