- Abstract
Television networks are changing to adapt to new practices of consummer engagement and hypertextual enjoyment (access to contents available in different media plataforms). Scolari (2008) calls this hypertelevision, a television that, in an attempt to respond to new social demands, invests in multiple screens (computers, tablets, smartphones) and seeks to interact with users. This paper aims to understand the operations of this new TV statute by analysing the transmedia universe built by the telenovela "Cheias de Charme", produced by Rede Globo de Televisão. In conclusion, it is noticeable that hypertelevision characteristics are already a part of the network's strategies. Also, it is possible to understand the fan as a fundamental character that is able to provide sense and unity to the many textual elements of a transmedia universe.
