- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a man with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and poorly controlled diabetes who was admitted to hospital for management of blunt polytrauma after a fall. Topics discussed include Computed tomography (CT) revealing splenic laceration with moderate hemoperitoneum and active contrast extravasation; patient undergoing angioembolization of the proximal splenic artery, and developing a severe sepsis from infected splenic necrosis.
