- Abstract
The article discusses a study on comparing benefits of biological patch with synthetic patch augmentation in repairing posterosuperior massive tears in the rotator cuff. Observed were 152 patients treated with collagen patch augmentation and those who had open repair combined with polypropylene patch augmentation then evaluated with the visual analog scale (VAS) and shoulder rating scale. Results showed significant improvement with polypropylene patch augmentation after 36 months.
