- Title
Recognition as Passive Power: Attractors of Recognition, Biopower, and Social Power.
- Authors
Testa, Italo
- Abstract
The article offers a socio-ontological grounding for critical social philosophy that can be obtained by a novel characterization of recognition as a capacity having an active and a passive side. Topics include ways to understand the link between recognition and power, the distinction between active potentiality in the entity initiating change and passive potentiality in the entity undergoing change, and reciprocal ties between being attractors of recognition and being attracted by recognition.
