- Abstract
The term post-truth is often associated with the spread of fake news and denialist views of science - climate denialism and anti-vaccine movements, for example. An alternative to dealing with the phenomenon of post-truth is to understand the circumstances in which misinformation arises, as well as the communities in which this phenomenon takes root. In addition to scientific denialism and the rapid dissemination of (dis)information on social networks, the evolutionary configuration of our own mental structure can provide a way of explaining the favorable climate for the current post-truth scenario. Exceptionally in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, the lack of appreciation and discredit of scientific knowledge poses serious risks to life. Therefore, we seek to discuss in this article the context of the post-truth, one of the psychological roots of this phenomenon - the cognitive bias, and then reflect on how scientific education can dialogue with this phenomenon, essentially in the context of the new coronavirus pandemic.
