- Abstract
In 1135 Herman of St Peter in company with Robert of Ketton set out on a study trip for the Moslem East where he also found an opportunity to compare the names of the days of the week in different languages. Having noticed some sound similarities of ordinal names of the days in his native Slovenian and in the Middle East Persian, he began to record the initials of Slovenian names with Persian letters. Four years later he sailed to the Spanish West and there he faced the Slovenian inicials with the Latin deistic names of the days in order to make special glyphs for the planets that allegedly ruled over the corresponding days of the week. In 1144 he finally coordinated the glyphs of the seven planets with the signs of their twelve houses by using Glagolitic letters and most likely therefore obtained the attribute Dalmata. Based on Glagolitic letters the signs of the houses read as follows: Jaz v Boga, Devo Marijo verujo - 33 + 1111 - Hermannus de Carinthia.
