Pasolini's Accattone, or Naturalism and Its Discontents.
- Authors

- Abstract
The author attempts to analyze the role of Marxist director Pier Paolo Pasolini in making his first film "Accatone." His analysis is through a professed, Pasolini's relationship to neorealism that reflects in his films. He argues that Pasolini was not born into this subordinated yet emergent class. Pasolini was a rural bourgeoisie who came to Rome in 1950 where he found work as a scriptwriter. He also raises objection on Pasolini's description of how the creation of the film differs from that of the neorealists.
