- Abstract
The article presents information about morphological variants of membrano-proliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN). MPGN with sub-endothelial deposits represents a heterogeneous group. In some patients, the presence of immunoglobulins, Clq and C4 associated with betaC in the glomeruli as well as the finding of reduced plasma C4 concentrations suggests the existence of an activation of the complement sequence by the classical pathway. One of the features of MPGN with dense intramembranous deposits is the constant recurrence of the disease in transplanted kidneys.
