- Abstract
This article, titled "Editorial: CNS tumor metabolism: targets, markers, and challenges," explores the field of tumor metabolism in central nervous system (CNS) cancers. It discusses recent advancements in mass spectrometry that have revolutionized our understanding of tumor metabolism and highlights the potential of tumoral metabolic assessment in guiding personalized treatment strategies and predicting patient outcomes. The article also addresses diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for CNS metabolism, including the use of Deuterium Metabolic Imaging (DMI) and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS). Additionally, it explores the impact of tumors and cancer treatments on cardiovascular health and the association between metabolic factors and cancer-related subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Overall, these studies contribute to a deeper understanding of the metabolic aspects of brain tumors and offer potential prognostic markers and novel avenues for diagnosis and treatment of CNS disorders.
