- Abstract
The aim of this study is to adapt the "Recommended Classroom Assessment Practices Scale" developed by Alkharusi (2007) into Turkish. It was also examined whether teachers' views regarding level of performing the recommended classroom assessment practices differed in terms of gender, branch, professional seniority and graduated faculty type. The study has employed survey model and the study group was composed of 408 teachers. For the linguistic validity, the correlation between the Turkish and English forms conducted was calculated using the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients and confirmatory factor analysis was used to determine the construct validity. In order to determine the internal consistency, coefficients of the factors were calculated using the Cronbach α value. In addition, the MANOVA test was used to determine whether the mean scores of the participants differed by demographic variables. As a result, the four-factor structure of the scale in its original form was compatible with the Turkish form. However, while the original version of the scale was 24 items, four items were removed as a result of the analyses. Also, it was found that the teachers' level of performing the recommended classroom assessment practices did not differ in terms of gender, branch, professional seniority and graduated faculty type.
