- Authors
Mosjidis, Jorge A.
- Abstract
Breeding and utilization of two forage legume species, sunn hemp (annual) and sericea lespedeza (perennial), were presented and discussed. Selection of sunn hemp populations that can produce seed in temperate climates and the beneficial effects of the plant on soil conservation and fertility were discussed. The selection and release of a grazing tolerant sericea lespedeza, a plant that has medicinal properties for small ruminants, and the effect on gastrointestinal parasites when fed to small ruminants are presented.
