- Abstract
The article discusses the differences in trauma care in rural and urban settings, focusing on pretransfer imaging decisions in rural trauma cases and situations in which patients may not benefit from diagnostic imaging before transfer to urban facility. It provides information on the established levels of trauma care, basic guidelines for trauma care, and discusses ways to reduce unnecessary imaging of patients with trauma at rural settings.
