- Abstract
The article discusses the history of political debates within the Netherlands and the organization of the United Nations regarding human sex trafficking, prostitution, and the brothel Campo Alegre on the island of Curaçao in the Netherlands Antilles. The authors present their opinion on why the Dutch government set up the brothel and why complaints by the United Nations were ignored.
