- Abstract
The article focuses on the copyright law for ringtones in the U.S. and on the future of copyright reform. It says that the U.S. District Court for New York's Southern District rules that ringtones cannot be considered as a public performance. It tackles the legislative process used in the enactment of public performance' copyright reform and music industry's integration. It discusses the role of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) organization in the music industry.
