Compares slow infusion of a calcium solution via an indwelling catheter over six hours with the conventional single administration of a calcium solution over 15 minutes, for the treatment of parturient paresis in cows. Clinical examination of cows; Determination of total calcium, ionized calcium, inorganic phosphorus and magnesium; Results of electrolyte analyses; Success rates for both methods of treatment.
