- Abstract
The article explores a report by I-Wei Chen and his colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania which focuses on the effects of impurities on random insulator that is smaller than the electron diffusion length. The experiment was conducted using thin films of six different random materials, which proved that nanometallic state can be achieved if proper materials and parameters were used. The author says that understanding of the behavior of small dimensions is important as nanotechnology embraces random or disordered materials.
