The article presents an inventory model that takes into account finished goods inventories as well as input inventories, or the sum of raw materials and work-in-process inventories, in Great Britain. Based on stylized factors for British manufacturing, input inventories are more essential than finished goods inventories. This is true in terms of both their size and their volatility.
