Abstract
The article reports that Vecoxan, an oral anticoccidial drench, from the Janssen Animal Health has been licensed for use in cattle in Ireland. The oral medicine treats by disrupting the life-cycle of Coccidia species. According to Richard Sygall, Janssen's veterinary surgeon, the trials with the drug have shown very positive results. The oral medicine reduces the excretion of oocysts by 98% reducing pasture contamination.
