The article presents the author's explanation of the risk of infective organisms and their management by the dental team in the surgery environment. He states that infection control protocols are a risk management tool which is used to prevent the transfer of potentially infective organisms from one person to another. Any person coming into contact with contamination within the dental surgery is at risk of acquiring an infection.
