- Abstract
The article discusses the findings of the National Task Force on Accreditation in Health Education in the U.S. The task force was organized in 2001 by the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) and the American Association for Health Education (AAHE) to strengthen its stand on professional health education. Moreover, the task force was charged to develop a plan for the development of coordinated accreditation system for educational programs in health education. Furthermore, the article discusses the recommendations of the task force, which if implemented will lay the foundation for improving quality assurance in professional health education.
