The author argues the importance of preliminary examination in pretrial hearing for felony prosecution in California. Topics discussed include the role of constitutional amendments in making admissibility of hearsay evidence at preliminary examination, law enforcement for regulating the admissibility of evidences and testimony at preliminary examination, and importance of due process confrontation rights during preliminary examination.
