- Authors
Tanner, Nichole T.; Mehta, Hiren; Silvestri, Gerard A.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the aspects of the evaluation for ling cancer screening methods. It mentions the use of the chest x-ray (CXR) and sputum cytology screening in 1968, in which there were no observed changes in mortality benefits. It states that low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) was observed to be effective in lung screening. It adds that the development of the light-induced fluorescence endoscopy (LIFE) has improved detection of lesions, however, predictive use was not enhanced.
