- Abstract
The article focuses on the community participation for social security in the cities of South Africa like Yeoville and Johannesburg. The author begins with pointing out the complex reforms of police structures after 1970s that forced people to have private security. He says that there was consistent increase of crime level in the cities and further the relationships between the police and residents became worse. The author analyzes the issue through a model and argues on its consequences.
