The article focuses on the economic condition of small-scale manufacturing industry in Gauteng, South Africa. It states that the region is composed of well-known small, medium, and micro-enterprises (SMME), which represents a strong economic system and scene that is beneficial to the outgrowth and promotion of manufacturing SMMEs. It also mentions the three production activities that govern the region's emerging economy such as metal-works, textile sector, and wood-working activities.
