- Title
Sex-Selective Abortion Bans.
- Authors
Kalantry, Sital
- Abstract
The author discusses aspects of the new legislation implemented in the U.S. states which ban abortion among women who do not want children of a certain sex. Author opines that the law is targeted at Asian American women who favor male children and abort female fetuses. Though there is no tangible evidence for the argument, the author feels there is a relation between Asian population in the U.S. and the new law. Author could not find any empirical support on the hypothesis that Asians in the U.S. prefer boys to girls.
