- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on her experiences as an Iranian artists who tackled political issues and chose to live in exile. The Iranian culture is discussed as well as the changes and developments after the 1979 Islamic Revolution and the government's oppressive treatment of artists and intellectuals. Also tackled are her exploration of Islam in art with regard to political ideology, mysticism, feminism, and oppression, the developments in the motion picture industry, and the government's censorship of films.
