- Abstract
The article focuses on the curriculum developments of Science education in Puerto Rico. The elementary and high school curriculum in Puerto Rico was described in the same manner to that in the U.S. The nature study course was found to lack efficiency, and was substituted with elementary science. The laboratory equipment in the schools, which is funded by the Department of Education, was standardized to avoid the unnecessary spending of materials. Visual education was introduced in 1928 at the University High School. Since Puerto Rico has such a heavy work load for classroom activities, there is no room to add extra curricular activities such as science club or field trips.
