- Abstract
Internet has became the best and the fastest way of shopping, communication, and other social network. Since its creation internet, as part of mass media network, has been the aye into the world of many people, particularly younger. Every time, when there is a new segment in Media bulk of information, the next step is to educate consumers. UNESCO, in early eighties, suggested to all countries to organize media education in elementary and high schools. However, in Serbia, the media education is still on very low level. There are much more to be done in Serbian educational system related to media literacy. There are Western countries like Scandinavian ones that have been dealing with media literacy for a few good decades. Finland, at the first place, Sweden. Holland, Norway...Even the countries in our surroundings are much more advanced in media education than Serbia. Everyone knows that during the online shopping there are many irregularities, from misusing the credit cards, stilling other people's identities, unethical advertising and other misconducts. However, when health is in danger because of fake medications, as one of many manipulations in the field of illegal health industry, then, the responsibility should be focused on internet providers, and the chain of responsibilities from producers to buyers. Also, there should be more strict control in Post Offices, borders, local governments. Despite the regulations prescribed by The Ministry of Health in Serbia to protect the patients from false medications, in everyday life, the problem is much higher. When the person is confronted by serious illness, the rational decision is often out of question. The fear for life is the strongest motivation. In this paper we will try to focus on the importance of media education , particularly of those whose health is dengeresly affected, if we want to be able to answer some of the questions, and come to some conclusion.
