- Abstract
This article discusses a case of anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 (MDA5) antibody-positive clinically amyopathic dermatomyositis (CADM) in a patient with silicone breast implants. The patient presented with skin lesions and elevated levels of anti-MDA5 antibodies. Treatment with prednisolone and cyclosporine resulted in improvement of symptoms. The article suggests a potential association between silicone breast implants and dermatomyositis, although further research is needed to confirm this. The authors emphasize the importance of monitoring for anti-MDA5 antibody-positive CADM in patients who have undergone silicone breast implant surgeries.
