The article presents a study which examines the presence of youth gangs in suburban and rural areas in Georgia. The study used surveys to see how police agencies conceived gang presence in small rural areas of Georgia. It mentions that a survey was mailed to 146 members of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. It says that survey response was 59 out of 146 with a 40% response rate. Results show that gang related behaviors or activities were present in the area, including graffiti, flash hand signs, and drugs.
