- Abstract
The article presented here has its origins in a paper presented by the authors at the International Congress on Science and Education, held in June 2022 in Havana. Both defend the idea that, since ancient times, man has maintained a relationship with nature and therefore studies, uses and transforms it, and that the new generations should be formed under a broad and deep culture on the knowledge of the natural environment, for which the teaching of the contents of the subject "The world we live in" plays a decisive role, which allows to know the processes and phenomena of the natural world and thus prepare the student to care for and rationally use nature. This article offers the results systematized by the authors, thanks to their deepening in this subject from the scientific research, through an analytical study of the school practice in Special Education. It was demonstrated that the use of different didactic resources fostered the interest and knowledge of the natural environment in blind schoolchildren, from the instrumentation of a Didactic Strategy to improve the teaching-learning process of the subject. The main results are supported by a research derived from the studies in the Master's Degree "Educational Attention to Diversity". The proposal elaborated is applied in a practical way, which is considered effective from the results obtained.
