- Abstract
The changes happening worldwide as a consequence of the globalization phenomenon have involved important transformations in the economic, political and social systems from which the world of labor does not escape. Historically, labor relations have been subjected to regulations; in the face of distortions caused by re-adapting structures to the new conditions, regulations are produced forming a set of standards and theoretical principles that regulate legal relations between labor law subjects (workers and employers) and simultaneously, between these and the State. Despite these regulations, companies evidence a significant level of non-compliance with the standing labor regulations; this document explains some of the most relevant results of a detailed study regarding the most frequent labor regulation violations and State action, carried out in Venezuela through work inspection services designed to take care of this problem. The study was approached through descriptive, field research reaching the most populated States in the country: Capital District, Zulia, Miranda and Carabobo. Using interviews and analyzing 120 files of inspections conducted at companies, it was possible to specify non-compliance in matters regarding labor, employment, social security and worker safety and health, as well as the impact of work supervision on restituting legal regulations.
