Root resection and separation of multirooted teeth: a 10-year follow-up study.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article presents a case study wherein 67 multirooted teeth patients aged 35 to 60 years were treated by root resection or separation during 1970 to 1978. Out of these 67 patients, 1 had root resections and 16 had root separations. The two patients who were not under regular maintenance had gingival inflammation around the abutment teeth. Unrestored teeth following resection are self-maintaining because molar teeth can survive even with one resected root.
