- Abstract
The article presents author's comments regarding the understanding and need of informed consent for patients. He states that informed consent is a vital part of all medical treatment as inadequate informed consent procedure may lead to unhappy patients. He opines that the advantages and disadvantages of all treatments should be openly discussed by clinicians before an informed consent is made. He says that limited life expectancy of a particular treatment must be presented to the patient.
