- Authors
Goerig, Albert C.; Hourigan, Matthias J.
- Abstract
The article presents information on clinical photography used in dentistry. It is mentioned that photographic accessories include retractors, mirrors, and drapes, which can add professional quality to slides. It is stated that clinical retractors are very helpful for the dentist in having access to the operative field and proper illumination of the area. Plastic retractors are generally used for most intraoral photographs; and metal retractors are used for surgical cases because they can be autoclaved. It is mentioned that mirrors are the most useful equipment in clinical photography, and both glass and metal mirrors are available. However, it is stated that the rhodium-plated glass mirror is the most popular mirror used today.
