- Abstract
The article discusses Baptist higher education during the Seventy-Five Million Campaign of the Southern Baptist Convention, particularly focusing on the professionalization of theological education. It analyzes men's and women's Baptist education, focusing on curricula changes at Carson and Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee and Bessie Tift College in Forsyth, Georgia. The author reflects on men's training to serve as ministers and women's training to do religious work. Bessie Tift College president J.H. Foster is also considered.
