- Abstract
The article discusses the Christian Life Commission Idea in the context of Southern Baptist Convention's experience on social ethics. Conducting missions lay at the establishment of the Southern Baptist Convention, but arguments on whether or not slave owners could be appointed as missionaries was an ethical dilemma over a social issue. Baptist fundamentalism encompassed a world view, which did not include spiritual formation.
