- Abstract
Everything that people acquire from their culture intentionally or unintentionally and contribute to their lifestyle, understanding, way of doing business, and in short, to their self, constitutes a person's cultural capital. Organizational socialization, on the other hand, can be expressed as the process of acquiring the necessary attitudes, behaviors and information for employees to join the organization as a member. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between teachers' cultural capital competence levels and organizational socialization levels. The sample of the research conducted with the relational survey model consists of 468 teachers working in preschool, primary, secondary and high schools in Batman and Siirt city centers in the 2019-2020 academic years. "Cultural Capital Scale" and "Organizational Socialization Scale" were used as data collection tools in the study. The data obtained in the study were analyzed with a statistical package program. Independent sample t-test, descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analyzes were used to analyze the data in the study. According to the results of the research, both the cultural capital competencies and the organizational socialization levels of the teachers were found to be "high". In the cultural capital adequacy levels of teachers; There was a significant difference at the education level. In the organizational socialization levels of teachers; Significant difference was determined according to education level and monthly income. A moderate positive relationship was found between teachers' cultural capital competencies and organizational socialization. Teachers' cultural capital competencies are a significant predictor of their organizational socialization.
