- Abstract
Vesîle-nâme, which is worth studying in order to show the historical development of Turkish writing and spoken language in the 18th century, is a religious-didactic text written in the genre of prose in the Classical Ottoman Turkish period. Vesîlenâme was created by Şeyhoğlu Derviş Osman. This work, which consists of seven chapels and mentioned the manners of the Halvetî sect, was enriched with folk stories and religious information was given. The information given is supported by verses and hadiths. The Vesîle-nâme, whose only copy was detected in Koç University Library Manuscript No: MS 135/79, BP 189.V47, has not been studied until today. The work consists of 55 leaves and 17 lines. Some of the special names of the work written with corrupted verses and expressions that are wanted to be emphasized are written in red ink and the rest in black ink. In this study, it was tried to give information about Şeyhoğlu Derviş Osman and the content of his work Vesîle-nâme.
