- Abstract
The encephalocele is a protrusion in the form of a sac that generates intellectual disability, is formed by the exit of the brain and the membranes that cover it through a cranial opening, arises from a defect in the neural tube. The article describes and assesses the clinical case of a 54-year-old female patient, 65% disability, a good life prognosis, and has a long-term headache, memory disorders and limb pain. Background of large occipital palpable mass. The diagnosis is a broad bone defect in the left predominantly with large encephalocele and parenchyma protrusion of the occipital lobe and left cerebellar lobe.
