- Abstract
The article presents commentary on a research on the translocation of captive-bred animals and their survival in the wild. In the study, captive-bred Vancouver Island marmots were translocated and a wilderness release strategy that would improve their survival rate was proposed. It comments on the effectiveness of the strategy for improving survival in the first year and on the application of the strategy for other species.
