Abstract
The article discusses the study headed by Andrea B. Goldschmidt of the University of Chicago regarding the behavioral, emotional and situational factors linked to purging among women with anorexia nervosa (AN). It mentions that binge eating is the strongest predictor of purging. It notes that loss of control and overeating are the important determinants of purging in patients with AN.
