The article presents a comparison between postmodern nihilist Jean Baudrillard and Orthodox spirituality by examining Baudrillard's reaction to the dangers of postmodernity. Topics discussed include the use of an anthropological model to understand this reaction, Baudrillard's criticism of Western Christianity with regards to the loss of symbolic exchange, and Baudrillard's analysis of simulation and hyperreality.
