- Title
How to Counter the Houthi Threat from Yemen.
- Authors
Walker, Gerald
- Abstract
The U.S. has established a 10-country force in Bahrain to counter the threat posed by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Houthis have been attacking ships near Yemen in response to Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza. The attacks have disrupted global shipping and oil companies, leading to concerns about the impact on the global economy. The international community, including the United States, is taking action to ensure the safe passage of ships and prevent further attacks. However, the Houthi problem is complex, as they have significant support and control over Yemen. Efforts are being made to reduce tensions and negotiate a peace deal, but military forces will still be needed to deter the Houthis and protect shipping lanes.
