- Abstract
This imaging technique revealed the morphology of the cavity, which allowed us to establish the vertical and horizontal limits of the cavitation through tumour segmentation. Cavitary uveal melanoma can show unifocal or multifocal cavities, some of which occupy up to 90% of the tumour thickness.1,5 In our series, we found both single and multiple cavitary nevi; however, all of these cavities occupied less than 50% of the area of the lesion. All patients underwent dilated fundus examination and ocular ultrasonography (US) with a 20-Mhz US transducer (OTI-scan 2000, Ophthalmic Technologies Inc. (OTI), Ontario, Canada.
