Allgemeinmedizin ist nicht allgemeine Medizin.
- Authors

- Abstract
In the article titled "General Medicine is not General Medicine", the author Frank H. Mader from Germany discusses the distinction between "general medicine" and "general practice". He criticizes that the National Competence-Based Learning Objective Catalogue Medicine (NKLM 2.0) does not clearly define which competencies are specific to general practice. The author argues that many of the listed competencies, such as abdominal sonography or blood pressure measurement, are basic skills that should be taught in every medical specialty. He emphasizes that general practice has its own specialized language and professional theory, and is an independent discipline. The author calls for a clear distinction between "general medicine" and "general practice" in medical education and research.
