- Abstract
Information about several preliminary clinical trials on the development and treatment of schizophrenia discussed at a symposium at the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) annual meeting in May 2010 is presented. They include a study presented by René S. Khan on the brain volume loss in patients with the condition during the course of their illness. Another discovered a link between reduced brain loss and olanzapine use. The potential effectiveness of family-targeted therapies was also discussed by Doctor William R. McFarlane.
