Abstract
The author reflects on the overseas expansion of the brand of research universities. The author argues that the faculty recruitment of the overseas campuses emerges as a major hurdle on the way to excellence. An overview of the formidable tasks in the recruitment of top Western faculty is offered. The author expects that an opportunity to dive into scientific inquiry and experience of its rewards for the new populations of students.
